What is an NFT?
NFT stands for non-fungible token. These are unique digital tokens that you can buy, sell, or store in your collections. The token itself can be anything, digital or 3D art, a song, a video, a joke, a game, a digital version of a real-life object, or something completely abstract.
What is the purpose of NFTs?
NFTs can have multiple uses. One of them is selling, buying and exchanging online art in auctions. Some NFTs also provide benefits at real-life events: admission to VIP areas, exclusive music and fashion events, access to limited collections, and more. The diversity of NFTs is still being explored, but the possibilities of their application in the Metaverse are limitless.
What is blockchain?
A blockchain is made up of information about digital transactions performed from different computers. This sequence is immutable and allows the exchange of NFTs in a decentralised peer-to-peer format. Also, blockchain transactions are public and can be referred to at any time.
What is a crypto wallet?
Your crypto wallet is your unique key to access the blockchain on which your NFTs are located. It is a private online location where you can exchange NFTs or store your cryptocurrencies.
How can I purchase an NFT?
You’ll need to take several steps before you become the official owner of your desired NFT. First, create your crypto wallet and connect it to your chosen marketplace. Then, buy the necessary amount of cryptocurrency, and you’re ready to select and mint your NFT. Minting is the process of verifying a token and the beginning of its existence on the blockchain, i.e. the moment when you take ownership of your chosen NFT.
